Mountains

Come home to the Blue Ridge Mountains as you enjoy inspiring vistas and nature's glory with a stay in Granny's Old House. Experience a time now passed in this turn-of-the-century home where Tom and Lura Harris raised their six children. With its views of mountains and meadows, Granny's Old House is the right vacation accommodation.

Granny's Old House is located near Sparta, North Carolina, in Alleghany County. Enjoy the community's many antique shops, handmade crafts and farm fresh produce. Opportunities for hunting, hiking and fishing abound. The county is home to the New River, a National Scenic River, as well as many mountains streams.

Alleghany County is in the heart of Christmas tree country where the Fraser fir, the Cadillac of holiday trees, is grown. Catch the Christmas spirit with a visit in the late fall and a trip to one of the many local farms to choose and cut your own tree.
